Why?
What really started this peeve was an author who attempted to tear into me because I said ‘no’ to her request. Yup, she was extremely peeved I dared to turn her down. Then proceeded to tell me what my opinions were and how wrong they were. How she disagreed.
Really?
My reason for turning her down – non-fiction book about her dog training methods and the rules and laws of dog ownership.
At the time I did not have a dog. At the time a young woman had just been mauled to death in her apartment hallway. At the time we both lived in different countries with different rules and laws. I wasn’t about to fact check her material.
Oh, but she did see fit to rip into my country’s rules and laws and now could see how unqualified I was to read her book.
So, I’ll ask again – why argue?
