THE RAT
A terrorizing wind blew down on the deathly white figure.  It lay in a pool of blood, its blood.  Deadly silence filled the rat’s ears.  Not a soul, living that is, was present at this massacre.  A shrill scream knifed through the fog thickened silence.  The rat floated down the river of sewage towards a pile of bones.  The hidden hunger had been filled…for now.
