Indulges – Letting KARMA = BEING AWARE have its moment

original work by Christine I Steeves Speakman

A moment will happen when I’m pulled to write, it’s just how I work my thoughts. Now no details are needed, but readers will fill in their own as soon as I mention Karma.

How many times have we heard or even said:

…Karma’s a *itch

…What goes around; comes around

…as you sow so shall you reap

And, let’s face it there’s a multitude of different phrasingS for the same idea…what you do, comes back to ____ you.

What if it’s not Karma, but more a self-awareness?

When we’re feeling good about ourselves, about something we’ve done for no other reason than we just wanted to. When that positive adrenaline hits us for experiencing something good…something right. Are our senses not then more in tune to see and experience the positive? Maybe it’s not the universe or Karma coming back to us because we did _____. Maybe it’s something deeper inside  our spirit that searches out the same?

Opposites may attract. Magnets repel their sameness. Human awareness searches for its equal?

Without details, yes, something very recent has made me more aware of this thought process…this desire for a Karma payback and you know what? It’s bogus…hold off, don’t start yelling.

I do believe in positive and negative energy. Sending out your dreams and what have you to the universe. What you think can have a mass impact on what you do…what you bring to your life…your decisions, both good and bad.

Is this not Karma?

If I’m looking for the good, the positive, will I not find it?

If I’m hurting from anger or negative feelings/experiences, will I not find those, too?

Is my spirit searching for more of what I’m feeling?

When we’re pulling ourselves down, piling more and more anger, pity, fear, ego into our being do we not see only more anger, pity, fear, and ego? Doesn’t it feel more difficult to reach up and accomplish something…our dreams, hopes, just plain feeling good.

However, when we’ve acknowledged our triumphs, our goofs, our errors, our fears, when we’ve turned around and realize we did the best we could, are we not lighter in mood? Doesn’t everything seem possible? There’s no doubt in ourselves. No, I don’t mean we’re all super hyped and believe we’re invincible. More like, we can see the totality of who we are…all sides.

We don’t need to boost ourselves up. We don’t need to white lie, flub, sugarcoat, look for Karma to come and agree with us.

When we are aware of ourselves…well, I don’t really know. For me when I’m aware of my thoughts and emotions and actions, I’m not more negative or more positive. I’m not down or up. I’m just…present.

I like being present.
