- I’m not a prude
- I know some very talented authors who WOW at this genre in both storytelling and heat levels
- I know the difference between porn and erotic/erotica…maybe not quite the difference between erotic and erotica
- Yes, I’ve read the genre
- Yes, I have written in this genre…No, under a different name
So why don’t I review this genre?
Simple. I believe in the need to keep certain age groups to their own sites and I haven’t set that review site up yet.
Let’s be honest, every other genre writer can visit any site whether it’s to blog tour or be interviewed or reviewed. But not every other genre writer can host an erotic/erotica writer to their blog/website.
Readers of erotic/erotica are readers of other genres. Readers of other genres are not necessarily readers of erotic/erotica.
Each audience you are looking to attract is very specific, there’s no getting around that point.
So, until I set up an erotic/erotica review site I won’t be reviewing this genre. Then again, maybe I already am, but under a different name.
As you state, Chris, knowing your audience is very important both in writing and in publicity.
Thanks for coming over Rhobin. 🙂
