Creativity – Revisiting/Tweaking – Creative Space

Whether it’s our quiet corner or entire home, we all need a space where we can create.

A cook will thrive in their kitchen.  A woodworker may have their workroom or outdoor shed.  The knitter may carry their materials in a bag or case and only need the couch corner.  As a writer, I spend my time with my computer and desks.

Yes, desks.  I have two that are kitty-cornered to each other.  One faces the wall and holds my laptop and two screens. Yup, I work with two computer screens and sometimes wish I had another. It’s easier on my eyes (and mind) to be able to work on a document and not have to open and close it while I search for information or answer something else that comes up.

The side desk faces the window. Allows me to have the printer, files, notebooks, and other materials close to hand. Also, it gives me an added surface to work on. A reason to look outside and daydream, allow thoughts to run free.

There’s also my reading corner.  Well, one of them.  I’ll also read here at my laptop or sprawled just about anywhere else in the house.

I need my area clutter-free, but I also need items which calm me and stir my imagination. A glossy stone could be the model of a new world somewhere in a distance galaxy or deep within our own.

Some of you may remember these pictures from my facebook, but since then I’ve rearranged the set up…a few times since they were taken. I do that a lot…rearrange my stuff.  Heck, I did that today when the new printer was being set up.

So, what’s your creative space like?  You do have one, right?
