Reader: Why read as a family

Built in book club. Someone to cheer and rant with. Someone to discover new authors with. Something to share between generations.

We’ve read to our children and then some magic age comes along and we take separate reading paths.

Their stories are too young. Too emotionally dramatic and unreal. After all no teen could possibly have the same feelings as an adult. Our books are too mature for them. A teen cannot understand hurt, betrayal, loss.

Whose comfort zone are we really worried about?

Family reading choice should be by all in order to unlock the door to our children, teens and their world. Let alone unlocking our world for them.
