General: Looking ahead

Or…are you already there waiting publishing times, upcoming deadlines, prepared.

What makes this different from seasonal stories? Anticipation.

We know Winter follows Fall and then Winter into Spring – Thanksgiving or Halloween to Christmas and New Year’s to Easter, to be fairly generic. Write a story for any holiday or season when you don’t need to – you’re steps ahead for any call the publishing world puts out or for any contest you stumble across.

Okay, maybe this blog posting is the same as last month’s, but my intention was very different. December I was asking when do you write the seasonal holiday story and now I’m telling you to write it now because you already know they are coming and when…but publishers need them in advance.

Right, they sounded very different in my head. Maybe and quite possibly I’m just rambling on a topic I refuse to let go, like a scene that should have been edited out.

Then again, maybe you missed last month’s entry and this is all new. There I go rambling again. Wonder if there’s a call for rambles.

I’m be ready.
