Creative Time Management

Hello,

I’m writing this off-the-cuff today. Meaning, I really have no idea what words are coming next as I figure out how to better manage my time.

I’ve re-app’ed my tweets to show on facebook figuring I post more writing info and my professional persona on Twitter, so now FB friends can see me, too.

And you know what I discovered?

I’m getting more done by tweeting what I’m doing. I know, I know, who really needs to know every hour or so what I’m doing…what any of us are doing. However, if it’s your book I’m reading or searching for the perfect word/phrase to use wouldn’t you like me to talk as much about it as I could?

See, I have 3 very good books to write about, but I’m having the worse time finding the right words to tell you about these books. Let alone having been living in a houseful of sick and recovery people…my brain went from writer to nursemaid to sickie and is fighting its way back to writer.

But, this morning I tweeted about working on the review and having that simple statement out there, with the book’s title, really kicked my butt.

Using this idea even kicked me into getting a book storage situation moving forwards.

I’m even thinking of using my email system for help. I already use it to mark appointments and school functions, why not creating moments, too?

Then there’s the ability to free myself from thinking I need more time than what’s available. Wonder how much I can accomplish in 5 minutes? Betcha I could sort the mail or update the bank book…hey, they take time, too.

Now, I’m off to the next tweet.

  1. Chris, love this post. I haven't started twitter yet, not wanting to commit the time to get started. Hearing what you have to say motivates me to move it up on my list.
    many thanks, JB
