Hello, It’s me the crazed creative person who flies by the seat of her pants.
Normally, I’m quite calm when working under my multi-hats…editor, writer, blogger, reviewer, mom; however, today I’m losing it. Or as I told hubby…there’s an insane little hamster running on his wheel in my head…hubby’s answer – speeding and going no place fast. Oh yeah, hubby knows me too well.
Instead of pulling out my authors’ edits and working on this month’s deadlines, I decide I should start a new twitter account for my upcoming eBook release. Oh sure, let’s go off half-baked.
That’s when I realized, I’m always going off half-baked on any new venture. Promoting myself is so totally out of my comfort level that anything I do will start out half-baked.
And that’s when I succeed!
You see, years ago I raised my cyber-arm and ended up a reviewer.
Later, I raised it again and I’m a columnist.
Yet, again and I’m subbing my finished fiction…and it’s getting published.
Let’s not raise the cyber-arm, but let’s jump into blogging…can kinda tell how that ended up.
Then, and then, I’m an editor. Not for one house, but two.
For me creativity is flying by the seat of my pants, hanging on for dear life, and doing the naked chicken dance.
Come on, let’s have some fun.
I'm with you on this half baked thing:) Only my real life keeps interfering with my virtual world. Lately I never know where or what I'll be doing each day. I love to read about other writers and what we attempt. I'm stressed this month because it's April and I have to write at least a poem a day. I love it but added to my life it makes it a little bulgey. To use a food metaphor I've rolled it up and some of the filling still comes out:)
Great post. Sometimes we all have to rant!!
What a beautiful and talented little spirit you are. If you worry at all about promoting yourself then DON'T. I'm happy to promote your gifted self.
Love you, Chris. You are very special.
