Dreams Come True With Hard Work

I’m writing this freestyle…meaning I have no idea where I’m going with this first blog that is totally about me and my first published short story, so please forgive the nerves.

I’m okay promoting other authors and talking about the accomplishments of everyone I know, but when it comes down to talking about me, well I freeze. The spotlight isn’t for me, frankly, it scares the poop outta me.

Well, here’s my short story’s cover. My cover artist is Suzanne Safi. My editors are Antonia Tiranth and Penny Lockwood Ehrenkranz. My publisher MuseItUp Publishing under the guidance of Lea Schizas.

Me? Oh, I’m Christine Irene Steeves, the writer.

🙂

  1. Dear Christine Steeves writer,
Suggest you ask Chris Speakman, editor, to do some guest posts for you when you run out of ideas.
I love her sense of humour.
Good luck with the book and what a lovely cover
    Annie

  2. Annie, think that would work? We could sing…they're coming to take me away, ha ha ho ho hee hee…all together, that might help. Yes, maybe I should just back away from the keyboard, nice and slow.

Suzanne did a great job, didn't she. Love MuseItUp's creative cover artists!

  3. Chris, this is a great way to start promoting! Love the serene look of your wallpaper for the blog. Very nicely done. Remember, I'm expecting to host you on my blog when Midnight Find is released!

  4. Thanks, Penny. I have your email tucked away in my keep file and as soon as my crazed writer's brain settles down…oh wait, I'm a writer, we never settle down, do we 🙂

Glad I'm a Virgo…need that organizational mind to hurry up and settle in for a bit.

And, once again…major Thank You for all your help.

  5. Chris,
I love this and I love the font you are using for your comments.:) It is hard to promote yourself, but if you don't do it, who will?? You certainly deserve it. I love your cover too!! Good luck with this your first all Chris blog and maybe you will be hosting other writers here too, like I do.)

I'm looking forward to learning much more about you!!! Love the waves too.

  6. Hi Chris, and welcome to the world of blogging. Your site looks great. The water almost seems to be moving and right now I'd like to just dive right into it. LOL
    Best,
    Pat Dale

  7. Hey, Barbara and Pat. Wish I could take credit for the water but the credit goes to Michael Jay allowing Blogger to use his pics 🙂

This is my 3rd blog, but the first where I have to talk about myself LOL.

Think I'll keep the Creativity blog for tours…hooks in with my known reviewer name ChrisChat 🙂

Thanks for dropping by…those nerves are leaving, a little.

  8. To my buddy and partner in writing…go forth with the confidence you have in commenting, chopping, and fine tuning my work. I believe in you. Now, go get 'em!
    Nick G. Giannaras

  9. Hey Nick, Rosalie…thanks.

Chop? I don't chop when I'm your editor…I hack with wild abandonment, you know that (wink wink)

Nerves? Let up? Oh I was so hoping you would tell me this 😉

BTW, may I borrow Caleath and Boren or Azin for a bit…yeah, they'll help settle the nerves.

    Thanks again, appreciate it 🙂

  10. Joylene, sure stay a bit. After what you put dear Valerie through, you need to recoup a little…but not too long, want more stories 🙂

    Thanks

  11. Chris, you're not alone when it comes to not promoting one's self. I do it often. Easier to talk and promote others than brag about my own work. But now you can wet noodle me when I pester you to promote too. LOL

  12. Self-promotion is a necessary evil. And there we are. Unless you can afford to hire somebody to blast you everywhere, you need to do it yourself. Your site looks great, by the way.

  13. Lea…I'm learning by your example, plus those wet noodles. Me? Wet noodle, you? Now would I do that…oh CL's waiting for book 2 still 😉

No one seems to realize how much a writer has to self-promote, do they Heather? Still, would rather yak about someone else's book. Maybe that's so many creative people are actually shy? Now that's a conversation for another time.

    Thank you, Ladies.
