Poetry Starts – Why never write poetry when sleepy

This piece was written February 5, 2001 and yes I remember how tired I was. I’ll give the original ending lines way near the bottom…which will explain why never write poetry when sleepy.

Version A

You stared
I glared
You winked
I blinked
You walked
I balked
You bowed
I wowed

Version B

Across the room you stared
I returned a glare
Your ludicrous wink
Made me blink
Toward me you stroll
Your attitude too droll
Then you bowed
I was wowed

Version C

You        I
Stare     glare
Wink      blink
One more poetry book pic
If you’re still with me…forgive me, but life does require silliness….oh I can’t believe I’m sharing this
Version A
You gassed
I passed
OR
You passed gas
I just passed
Version B
But the power of your gas
Made me pass
Version C
pass gas   just pass

  1. Christine, I loved your funny poem.
    It really was quite nifty
I understand you wrote it when
you were a wee bit shifty

I'm glad you shared this work with us.
    It was quite entertaining.
Alas, I must sign off for now.
    Thus, I am yours, remaining
