Exhibit A |
TIME AND LOCATION: 12:30AM, I’m sitting quietly on my side of the bed watching TV with the hubby.
I hear voices outside, so now my attention is drawn to TV and window..exhibit A.
Although it was pitch black with only light source being our TV.
I was in my nightgown and white towel on my head as I had a late hair wash…side note, no worries of bedhead hair this morning, read on and you’ll understand why.
More voices, I look at window…something’s moving. Some big black spot is moving up the window screen.
“PHIL, THERE’S SOMETHING ON THE SCREEN”
“I don’t see anything.”
“I SEE IT, THERE’S SOMETHING ON THE SCREEN”
“I’m not seeing anything.”
“I DON’T CARE…MOVE…THERE’S SOMETHING CLIMBING THE SCREEN”
“I…”
“NOT THE TV THE WINDOW…THERE”
I’m not fumbling for my iPod’s flashlight to shine outside on the small bulb thing.
“I don’t…”
“THERE, AT THE TOP…IT’S MOVING”
“oh a spider”
“A BIG FRIGG’N HUMONGOUS SPIDER…GET IT”
BODY SIZE OF MY NAIL..SPLAT MARK WOULD HAVE BEEN MADE |
“it’s outside”
“I DON’T CARE”
Hubby-dear proceeds to flick the screen sending it flying.
“GET WATER AND THROW IT OUT THE SCREEN”
Fast forward to now 3 glasses of water thrown out window and I’m doing my shakey icky-icky dance.
Quick break to waking hubby up one hour later at 3AM.
“Phillll, please check the windows and floor and bathroom…I had a nightmare of the spider and I have to pee.”
Hubby…slept on couch due to my need of the TV being on and tossing and turning cause of…spider, of course.
MORNING
Spider Hunt…
“Did You…”
“yes”
“And The…”
“yes”
“You Moved…”
“yes”
“You Sure…”
“yes”
“Okay, oh I see where you moved my stuff, yeah, not put back way they were”
MOVING ON
“Nope, I’m not going out door first…you go and check”
Which is why child is hosing our bedroom window cause, well, IT WAS A FRIGG’N HUMONGOUS SPIDER AND YOU KNOW IT’S STILL THERE WAITING FOR ME!
We all have our weaknesses and phobias. Yours is spiders. Mine is snakes. You can basically kill most any spider you find with one bash. But a snake in your house is a different matter entirely. Your husband sounds kind & supportive. He's a keeper! 🙂
Big spiders are scary. Depending on where you live, few are poisonous to humans. Still…
Hey, Lexa…thanks for coming by. My mom has that about snakes…we don't even mention the word 🙂 It's great to know our weaknesses and phobias and even better how we then handle them…I tend to freak-giggle laugh at myself. Yup, hubby's a keeper…though he could move quicker when I scream LOL
Hi, Rhobin…thanks for coming by. They are scary…their quickness gets me. True on the poisonous…not sure we have many in my neck of Ontario, but there's also that allergic reaction some have…which I don't want to learn LOL.
Okay…I am sorry because I know you were terrified through this, but that's really very funny! I used to be like that with spiders; now I smack talk them before grabbing a shoe as a weapon. Silverfish, on the other hand, scare me beyond words. I will flee a room if I try to kill one and it disappears. They're just icky!
Hey, Rachael…the best fears are always handled with laughter 🙂 Thanks for coming by…silverfish I can handle 🙂
