I’m going to tell you what I love most when reading…wanting to be part of the story.
Every book, movie, TV show that have ever been my favourite share this aspect…I imagine myself in that world. No, not as one of the characters, but part of it. The setting, time period, storyline, genre, characters are all part of the reason, but it’s something more, something between the words.
Every writer can write a story, but few can draw a reader in and make the world disappear. You know this is different than escaping for an hour or two into a book. I’m talking the whole locked away from the real world.
The read causing us to jump when someone finally gets our attention.
The read we dream about.
The read we even keep secret about. Don’t want to share it with anyone because it is ours.
It’s the read we wake up from feeling we’ve been gone for years.
For this writer, it’s the read I want to write.
