Am I the only one who would prefer spending the day locked away with my books than with anyone else? Not always, just sometimes.
I was originally going to ask what characters bug you; however, today I just want to lock the door and lose myself with my books.
Whether its fiction, non-fiction, favourite characters or those that drive me up the wall. I just don’t feel that need to deal with those not within the pages of imagination…paper or electronic.
Stop the world; today I want off to escape into someone else’s world.
You're not alone. I feel that way too, sometimes.
Chris,
You are not alone. I'm feeling that wa right now!
Definitely feel that way at times.

Hmmm…I can relate! Nothing wrong with a little alone time with one's favorite books and characters.

Nope, not alone.I feel that way most of the time, not just sometimes. Seems the older I get the more reclusive I become.
Well, Chris, I suspect you have much "company" in your seclusion with your books. They're conforting, uplifting, challenging, and if you don't like one, you can close it and then file it at the bottom of the pile or in a corner. Like a naughty child, it may or may not learn it's lesson and try to be more appealing the next time.

Will have to tell the story sometime how I compromised my character by moving him out of Tacoma to Seattle, just so he could make it into the anthology. Now, battered and bruised from his experience in the "big" city, he's limping back to Tacoma to take residency in a homeless camp.
I should've treated old Gus better.
Cheers in imagination,

Oh, if only I had time!
Here's something posted on the wall of my office. (I'm keeping the Middle English spelling to enhance the tone.)
O for a Booke and a shadie nooke, eyther in-a-doore or out;
With the grene leaves whisp'ring overhede, or the Street's cryes all about.
Where I maie Reade all at my ease, both of the Newe and Olde;
For a jollie goode Booke whereon to looke is better to me than Golde.

Thank you, everyone. I'm in great company.
Between motherhood, household, writing, and keeping up with everything else, there are days I want to hide with just books.
Probably why I ended up reviewing 🙂
Pat…yes, must know what you did to poor Gus.
Tony…I'm typing that up and posting it up on my wall 🙂
At least we'll never have to feel guilty for hiding and reading…we're never alone 😉
Chris
Hate ta do this but I"m with the group. Amanda and I get along better than I do with people sometimes. Add some music and the world can go away.
Me too. I get lost in the world of my characters and sometimes never want to leave them for the real world.

Oh, to be able to do that all the time. Between working, writing, being involved with critique groups and writing groups, all of which is stimulating and enjoyable, afterwards I just want to be wrapped up in the world of books.
I'd like to do it all the time and get a bit irritable when I can't read for whatever reason. – Ok so "bit" isn't really accurate more like very irritable LOL. I'm a blog reviewer as well thanks to the encouragement of a friend to start reviewing when I had too much spare time on my hands.
🙂
I'll never understand those who do not read. Those who can't get into any book ever. Nope, give me a book to dive into and I'm a happy gal.
Definitely!!
After dinner, I'll pull out my current read and escape. Noticed that it's happening more and more frequently…
