The original anthology call was for a short story with a non-typical happy ending. The couple cannot stay together. Tina, my main character, was a planner. A bit of a control freak. But, with her wedding messed up, she was set on a path of chance – risk. Why not further that risk by bringing in Patrick.
A cartoon-sneaker wearing, bald, red-bearded dying man.
Patrick is an over the top character completely different than Tina. Or has his path in life changed him to take risks?
Or is he lying?
No one, and I may have stated this before, but no one is more surprised than me that I wrote a romance-type story. This is not my first genre comfort. It’s my last, so of course there is the element of darkness. Just who is Patrick? Why is he here in Vegas? Why the dating service?
Why am I rethinking his story?
If you do read MIDNIGHT FIND let me know if you think I should write more on Patrick.
