I’m more comfortable calling myself a writer than a poet, but poetry and prose has always been my first love.
I wrote my first poem at age 9 and I’ve never stopped…except in the last few years. I listen to my “adult” critic more than I should. I’m struggling to find the freedom I use to write prose with. The freedom poetry gave me.
I want that back and I’m taking it back.
