I can tell you what prompted me to first write something, and it wasn’t any school work assignment, I was playing with my imaginary friends at home.
It was after 8pm and I was in for the night, I was 9 or 10. I was goofing around in my room re-enacting some show or book I had read and some play drama called for me to write something, my first prose, and then something about my dog as he patiently watched me…wondering what the heck I was doing.
There is was, I was writing.
