What exactly is a prompt? A writing prompt? Where do we find them and how to they work?
Frankly, I’m rambling a bit here because I’m trying to figure out how to offer up a prompt that’s basically just…writing prompt, go for it.
Most times I offer a word, phrase, situation that, in my mind, directs us somewhere. But, then there are the prompts that just appear out of nowhere…a TV commercial, a scent, a noise outside our window.
So, for this first week of 2024…oops, second week of 2024…let’s just be prompted by my rambles.
