Reviewer: I don’t want to read it anymore

And I’m very thankful this has not happened all that often. Just often enough to know this feeling.

Have I read non-stellar books? Of course. That doesn’t mean I didn’t give them a fair review…fair doesn’t mean negative. Although I can’t go back over all the years and be 100% sure of this.
However, I do remember four books that I did not want to finish and only one of those was never finished. One book I literally tossed across the room. Sadly, I did write a negative review and that might have been a little cutting.
Two, I finished it but could not write a review because I had the same reaction as book one and I didn’t want to write that negatively again.
Three, read first four pages and just stopped. No way was I going to be able to continue that one.
Four, I was hoping the droning would stop and the action would happen and I did find myself nodding off and re-reading pages.
It’s not just review-books, I’ve bought books I wanted to stop reading. There’s something inside me which does not allow me to leave a book unfinished. It feels wrong not to finish.
What about you?
